Simulation Center Technician
Location: Montgomery, AL, United States
Faulkner University's College of Health Sciences (CHS) is seeking a qualified individual to serve as Simulation Center Technician. The selected individual will provide technical, operational, and logistical support for simulation-based education conducted through the CHS Simulation Center, including academic programming for CHS students and training activities associated with the PATH Simulation Program. The position supports the preparation, operation, maintenance, and organization of simulation environments, equipment, and technology. Faulkner University is a Christian university affiliated with the churches of Christ.
This is a full-time (40 hours per week) position.
Summary of Duties:
- Assist with the setup and takedown of simulation scenarios, including manikins, task trainers, clinical equipment, supplies, props, and room configuration
- Operate and support simulation equipment, technology, and software under the direction of Simulation Center leadership
- Provide technical and logistical support for CHS academic simulations, PATH simulation activities, and other center programs
- Perform basic troubleshooting, routine maintenance, and equipment checks for simulation and audiovisual systems
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and readiness of simulation spaces, storage areas, equipment, and supplies
- Track and restock simulation supplies and consumables; assist with inventory management and equipment checklists
- Assist in AHA training courses, simulation events and related administrative and operational duties
- Assist with the transport, setup, and operation of simulation equipment for mobile or off-site activities
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or coursework in healthcare, information technology, simulation, or related field preferred
- BLS and ACLS instructor status or the ability to obtain required instructor credentials
- Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs. and assist with equipment setup and transport
- Ability to work flexible hours and travel to off-site simulation activities
- Experience with healthcare simulation equipment, audiovisual systems, information technology, or related technical systems preferred
- Active member of the church of Christ
