Job Description
Summary: Family Resources is a nonprofit social services agency dedicated to supporting successful lives and building strong communities. The Advocate - Illinois Domestic Abuse Civil Legal provides trauma-informed and survivor-centered services to individuals affected by domestic violence, focusing on advocacy, case management, and emotional support within the legal system.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive trauma-informed and survivor-centered services to individuals who identify as survivors of domestic violence, primarily within the legal system
- Provide individual advocacy, case management, emotional support, support groups, safety planning, and other systems advocacy for clients and their significant others affected by domestic violence
- Participate in the on-call rotation, providing 24-hour in-person crisis response to survivors as requested
Required Qualifications:
- Education Required: Open
- Experience Required: equivalent education & related work experience
- A valid driver's license in good standing and a vehicle with appropriate auto insurance are required. Must be able to pass the motor vehicle record background check
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education Preferred: Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Experience Preferred: 1-year related experience
