IT Intern

Summary: Family Farm and Home is a family owned and operated company based out of Michigan, seeking a driven, detail-oriented Intern to bridge their corporate infrastructure and retail storefronts. This role provides a unique view of IT operations, focusing on managing technical success for both the home office and retail locations through hands-on experience in troubleshooting and technology deployment. Responsibilities: - Provide Tier 1 & 2 support for corporate office staff and retail store associates - Ensure the stability of mission-critical store systems, including EPICOR/Eagle POS, inventory scanners, and label printers, to minimize downtime during peak shopping hours - Assist in the testing and rollout of new technologies across store locations - Utilize HaloITSM to track, prioritize, and resolve tickets - Troubleshoot basic networking issues (Wi-Fi, VoIP, and wired connections) to ensure seamless communication between retail branches and the corporate data center - Build partnerships with store managers and department heads to identify recurring technical pain points and suggest creative, analytical solutions Required Qualifications: - Willingness to work in a customer-focused, team-oriented environment - Patience - Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills - Resourcefulness - Excellent written and oral communication skills - Ability to provide clear documentation of work - Proficiency with Google Docs (including Sheets and Calendar) - Basic computer troubleshooting skills - Basic understanding of networks (IPs, subnets, VLANs, DNS, DHCP) - Ability to work in a hybrid environment (50/50 office and field work) - Ability to concentrate for extended periods and perform sedentary work - Ability to work in an environment subject to frequent interruptions and normal office noise Required Skills: Technical Support, Hardware Deployment, Network Troubleshooting Important Skills: HaloITSM, EPICOR/Eagle Nice-to-Have Skills: Google Docs, Basic Computer Troubleshooting, Basic Networking, Problem-Solving, Communication Skills
