Senior Fraud & Risk Analyst (f/m/x) at exmox GmbH in Hamburg, Germany

Your Mission

This is a company built for growth.

When you join exmox, you're stepping onto a global, highly competitive playing field, solving real problems in environments that push you beyond your comfort zone. We move fast, cut the noise, and focus on what actually matters, because in our industry, speed wins.

With 50M+ platform downloads, we’re rapidly scaling one of the most exciting innovations in mobile gaming: a rewarded user engagement and acquisition platform that helps players discover, and engage with games they enjoy - creating lasting value for both players and gaming studios.

As a Senior Fraud Analyst, you'll join our Fraud Analytics team as a close partner to our Fraud Analytics Team Lead - someone who can operate independently, mentor other team members, and help shape the fraud and risk agenda as the team and company scale.

You'll work cross-functionally with different teams, dig into fraud patterns across our platform, and build the processes we don't have yet. It's a highly visible, high-ownership role in a fast-growing company.

What You'll Own:

• Strategic partnership: Partner directly with the Fraud Analytics Team Lead on strategy, ideation, and day-to-day problem solving - acting as a sounding board, ready to step in and keep things moving when needed.
• Reporting uplift: Drive the evolution of fraud and risk reporting, turning raw data into sharp, decision-ready insights.
• Fraud trend analysis: Hunt down patterns across our user base, shape the detection logic and rules that keep us ahead of bad actors, monitor how those rules perform, and optimise them over time.
• Process ownership: Own the design of fraud and risk processes end-to-end, spotting gaps and building what doesn't exist yet.
• Experimentation: Test, learn, and iterate - running A/B tests to continuously sharpen our fraud prevention strategies.
• Strategic thinking: Think beyond the day-to-day, helping define where fraud and risk management goes next as the team scales.
• Mentorship & collaboration: Mentor teammates and partner cross-functionally with Tech, Data, Product, Support, and Finance - becoming a go-to person others rely on.

What You Bring

• Fraud & risk experience: 5+ years in fraud, risk management, or a closely related financial risk function; direct fraud experience is a strong plus, ideally in gaming or another B2C/app-based industry.
• Data & AI fluency: Comfort working with data - SQL, databases, and hands-on experience using AI tools for analysis and prompting.
• Analytical mindset: Strong analytical skills and genuine comfort with numbers, paired with the ability to turn analysis into clear, actionable reporting.
• Strategic contribution: Experience contributing to or developing risk/fraud strategy, not just executing existing processes — including running A/B tests to validate ideas.
• Collaboration & mentorship: Experience mentoring or supporting colleagues, and working cross-functionally across different stakeholder perspectives.
• Education: A relevant Bachelor's or Master's degree (Business, Finance, Accounting, Data/Mathematics, Engineering, or similar).
• Language: Fluent English, written and spoken.

Nice to have:

• Background in policy design or risk governance frameworks.
• Relevant certifications such as CFE, CFCS, CAMS, CRISC, CFA, and/or FRM.
• Working knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks - e.g. GDPR, PSD2/SCA, AML/KYC principles, and PCI-DSS basics where payment data is processed.

How We Win

• Speed is the feature. Speed beats rocket science. We move fast, test fast, and multiply our pace with AI, because action creates information and small wins compound. A fast failure is a lesson we learn from, a slow one is a problem we can't afford.
• Focus on the essential. Done is better than perfect. We stay focused on what actually moves us forward and protect people's time from anything that doesn't. We're direct in how we communicate too, no rambling, no unnecessary detail.
• See it. Own it. Solve it. The first to see it is best placed to fix it. We're not a place for comfort, we're a place for doers. "Not my job" isn't in our vocabulary, if you spot something, you help make sure it gets solved.
• Respect others. Trust multiplies. Respect is non-negotiable. We disagree with ideas, never with people. Trust here is built the same way it is anywhere, through consistency, a thank you, a moment of listening, and owning your mistakes.
• Perks that help you focus on what matters. Transport subsidy, learning budget, wellness and gym, workation, bi-weekly team lunches, and more. The perks are great, but the real reason people join and stay is the challenge, the ownership, and the drive to win together.

Please note: this is not a remote only position, we offer you a flexible hybrid model here in Hamburg, Germany - working from home on Mondays & Fridays, coming to the office on Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday!
