Job Description
Summary: EA Engineering is a company that fosters collaboration and innovation to tackle complex environmental challenges. They are seeking a motivated Early Career Geologist to support a diverse portfolio of environmental projects, involving both office-based work and field assignments.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning, fieldwork, and reporting phases for a wide range of multidisciplinary environmental projects under commercial, State, and Federal programs
- Support environmental assessments and investigations involving soil (surface and subsurface), bedrock, groundwater, surface water, and soil vapor
- Conduct field sampling and provide oversight on environmental and construction-related projects
- Enter, review, and manage field and laboratory data; assist with data quality control
- Assist with the preparation of work plans, technical reports, and project documentation
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Geology, Hydrology, Geosciences, or a related field
- Education or work experience with environmental consulting, including field-sampling procedures, monitoring well installation, analytical data interpretation, and reporting
- Basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) required
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites located in the Northeastern United States
- This position requires specific driving duties. You must be able to pass a motor vehicle records check required by our insurer
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current OSHA HAZWOPER and First Aid/CPR certifications preferred
- Geologist-in-Training (GIT) certification
- Experience with environmental remediation projects and sampling of environmental media
- EPA, State (NYSDEC), and Federal DoD experience is strongly preferred
