Job Description
Summary: Duke University Health System is committed to compassionate care and is seeking a Health Administration Intern at Duke Raleigh Campus. The intern will participate in a structured internship program to gain practical experience in healthcare administration, engaging in various projects related to hospital management and policy analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in an approved internship programme designed to prepare students for careers in healthcare administration
- Engage in projects and departments, focusing on hospital management, policy analysis, and programme development
- Provide exposure to various hospital functions, mentorship from leadership, and opportunities to present projects to senior leaders
- Contribute to the projects and departments in which they work, and to Duke Health as well
- Build knowledge and skills in a health care setting with organizational responsibilities ranging from planning and policy analysis to program development and implementation
- Receive mentorship and support to help their success on the engagement
- Present their projects to senior leaders in the Health System
Required Qualifications:
- High School graduation and completion of one year of a bachelor's degree program is required
- Strong communication skills
- Organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher and Excel
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preferred area of course concentration in hospital administration, business administration or public health or other closely related field
