Job Description
Summary: Duke Energy Corporation is one of the largest electric power holding companies in the U.S., dedicated to building a smarter energy future. The Informatics Intern will focus on evaluating new technology in the energy industry and finding innovative uses for existing technologies while gaining hands-on experience and mentorship from industry professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate new technology in the energy industry
- Find creative ways to use existing technologies in innovative ways
- Work on real-world projects and learn from experienced industry professionals
Required Qualifications:
- Enrolled and pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Informatics
- Must not graduate prior to August 2026
- Cumulative college GPA of 2.75 or higher
Preferred Qualifications:
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Previous work on Duke Energy related projects in a lab environment
- Internet of Things (IoT) technology with an emphasis on energy applications experience
- Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to provide the quantity and quality of work necessary to reach an accomplishment
- Demonstrated leadership qualities through effective decision making
- Works effectively with others from diverse backgrounds to achieve common goal
- Ability to deliver superior results within allocated time through effective prioritization, scheduling, planning and execution of assigned work
