Mental Health Support Worker

Apply today to join our compassionate and dedicated team in Woolston, a specialist mental health supported living service consisting of a block of self-contained flats. We support adults with mental health needs and complex presentations to live independently within their own homes, while receiving tailored support in a safe and structured environment.

We are committed to promoting recovery, independence, and wellbeing. Our approach is centred on respect, dignity, and empowerment, enabling the people we support to build confidence, develop life skills, and live fulfilling lives within the community.

The service provides a unique model of support where individuals live in their own flats but benefit from on-site staff support. Our team works closely with each person to help them manage their mental health, maintain their tenancy, and achieve their personal goals through person-centred, recovery-focused care.

What is a Support Worker?

A Support Worker plays a vital role in supporting individuals with mental health needs to live independently within their own flat. The role is dynamic and person-centred, focusing on promoting recovery and building resilience.

You will provide both practical and emotional support, helping individuals to:

• Manage their mental health and wellbeing
• Maintain their tenancy and daily routines
• Develop independent living skills (e.g., cooking, budgeting, cleaning)
• Access community resources, education, or employment opportunities
• Build confidence, self-esteem, and social connections
• Some people may need support with personal care

This role requires a proactive, patient, and empathetic approach, as you will be supporting individuals through both stable periods and times of increased need.

Why Should I Apply? What Makes This Job Special?

Working as a Support Worker is incredibly rewarding. You will play a key role in supporting individuals on their recovery journey, helping them move towards greater independence while living in their own home.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys meaningful, one-to-one support work in a structured supported living environment. You will have the opportunity to:

• Support individuals to achieve personal goals and milestones
• Help people transition towards greater independence
• Build strong, professional relationships with the people you support

You’ll also support individuals to engage in activities that promote wellbeing and social inclusion, such as:

• Attending appointments and community groups
• Going to the gym or for walks
• Shopping and managing finances
• Visiting family and friends
• Participating in hobbies and interests

In addition, you will assist with daily living tasks, medication support (where required), and maintaining a safe and supportive living environment.
