HOME DCMS BOYS BASKETBALL CLOCK OPERATOR QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

Successful applicants shall possess the following:

1. Knowledge of basketball clock keeper rules.

2. Ability to be on time.

3. Be able to pass a backround check.

4. Be able to be professional, alert, courteous, and patient at all times.

REPORTS TO: Athletic Director or Assistant Athletic Director

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Timekeepers are responsible for monitoring game time, but, their key function is tracking basketball time clock rules. The timekeeper is charged with carrying out the duties of timekeeping according to the regulations of basketball. So, they should be familiar with all the rules and timing obligations in the game.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Arriving half an hour before the first scheduled game to familiarize themselves with the score board controller.

2. Keeping up with the possession arrow throughout the game.

3. Keeping time for timeouts and letting the officials know when the time has expired.

4. Keep accurate points and fouls displayed on the scoreboard.

5. Proper decorum will be used at all times and includes no outward signs of bias, no coaching and no disrespectful conduct to the on-court officials, players, coaches and spectators.

TERM: All DCMS Home Boys Basketball Games for the 2026-2027 Boys Basketball Season only.
