PLEASE NOTE THIS POSITION IS TO START IN SEPTEMBER 2027

Our Building Services teams at Cundall play a key role in making buildings more energy efficient, cost effective to run and, ultimately, more sustainable. To do this, we’re looking for graduates who have a desire and enthusiasm to make a difference: in our homes, offices, projects, industry and community.

Working across a variety of sectors, our building services engineers are a source of world leading expertise, producing innovative and award-winning sustainable engineering solutions throughout the lifecycle of any building project.

With 29 locations globally, we offer a pro-active and collaborative approach to skill development, professional excellence and knowledge sharing.

Our Building Services teams have worked on a range of amazing projects, from data centres for large tech companies to headquarters of companies such as Deutsche Bank and Diageo. As a graduate in the team, you could play a key part in our next big project.

As a Graduate Mechanical Engineer, you’ll join a team who specialise in the design of some of the most exciting construction projects in the UK and worldwide.

Working closely with colleagues across our multi-disciplinary practice, you’ll provide specialist consultancy input on projects across a wide range of sectors including education, healthcare, workplace, retail and critical systems (data centres).

Under the guidance of our team of experienced engineers, we’ll equip you to undertake detailed mechanical building services engineering design and analysis, define and translate clients’ needs into designs for buildings, facilities and services (ventilation, cooling and air conditioning, heating systems and more) - all with sustainability at the forefront of the design.

You’ll have the opportunity over time to assume greater levels of responsibility and autonomy as your professional skills develop and with accredited professional development programmes from CIBSE and IMechE you’ll be fully supported towards achieving chartership.

• On target to achieve at least a 2:2 degree.
• Desirable if accredited with or on course to achieve a BEng/MEng degree level (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering.
• Have a passion about innovative and sustainable mechanical engineering for the built environment.
• Possessing a desire for personal and professional development, you’ll have the proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Digital engineering is a big focus at Cundall, so ideally, you’ll have an understanding of Parametric Modelling Techniques (Grasshopper or Dynamo), or at least one modern programming language (e.g. Python, C#, VB).
• You are organised and methodical in your approach to managing your tasks and priorities, striving to meet deadlines.
• Collaborative in nature, you’ll be able to empathise with your clients’ needs and utilise excellent communication skills, both in writing and verbally, with internal and external stakeholders. You’re used to using your initiative to overcome challenges and have a positive, can-do attitude.

What’s in it for you?

We offer a competitive starting salary which grows as you develop, as well as many training and development opportunities to make sure you keep progressing.

Aside from this, those who successfully join our graduate scheme also enjoy:

• A one-off joining bonus of £1,500, payable during your first week of employment.
• A £2,000 bonus on gaining chartered status with a relevant professional body.
• 25 days' holiday per annum (plus statutory holidays).
• A flexible benefits package which enables you to select additional benefits to suit your personal circumstances.
