Job Description
Summary: Corning Incorporated is one of the world’s leading innovators in glass, ceramic, and materials science. They are seeking an IT Analyst to manage, modify, and develop computer systems required for optical fiber manufacturing, while also participating in projects to meet plant objectives and drive cost reduction.
Responsibilities:
- Assist team of engineers to provide production support and troubleshooting for 24/7 manufacturing operation. Work with production associates, technicians, and engineers to ensure reliable equipment operation via automated control systems and user interfaces
- Support process and product optimization/improvement efforts
- Provide training for engineers and/or production associates as needed for new processes, equipment, or control systems
- Participate in capital projects
- Some after hours, on-call support will be required
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science; or equivalent experience
- 1+ years in a technical role or relevant experience
- Knowledge in programming languages such as: VB, .net, C, Realtime systems or similar
Preferred Qualifications:
- Realtime programming skills preferred
- Experience in production support in a manufacturing environment
- Ability/experience integrating computers into manufacturing processes to increase efficiency and lower cost
- MS Windows, iFIX, Ethernet IP I/O, Microsoft Office. Real time controls systems, experience with motion systems (desired but not required), SCADA, TwinCAT
- Problem-solving and debugging skills; ability to understand real needs behind operations and engineering requests
- Ability/experience troubleshooting simple low voltage electrical circuitry
