You’ll lead by example, support your colleagues and create an environment where everyone feels valued and knows what’s expected of them. From maintaining high standards and solving day-to-day challenges to celebrating great work, you’ll help make sure your team can succeed.

You won’t be doing it alone. You’ll work alongside a supportive group of managers who share ideas, tackle challenges together and are always ready to lend a hand. We’ll also support you to develop your leadership skills and take the next step in your career with us.

What makes a brilliant Shop Manager?

You don’t need to know everything from day one—we’ll give you the training and support you need. What matters most to us, is that you bring a positive attitude and enjoy making a difference for customers.

You’ll be:

• Customer-led – you understand your local customers and lead your team to deliver consistently great service.
• A visible, hands-on leader – you set the standard, work alongside your team and stay connected to the day-to-day operation of your shop.
• A confident people manager – you set clear expectations, give meaningful feedback and create an environment where colleagues feel supported to perform at their best.
• Commercially focused – you understand what drives sales and profitability, using shop performance, customer demand and your own observations to identify opportunities and improvements
• Accountable for your shop – you take ownership of its overall performance, including sales, costs, stock, waste, service and operational standards.
• Confident using your judgement – our shops require managers who can think for themselves. Not every task is managed centrally, so you’ll make informed decisions, solve problems and take action when needed.
• Organised and forward-thinking – you plan effectively, anticipate challenges and balance immediate priorities with the longer-term needs of your shop and team.
• Focused on developing others – you recognise potential, build capability and help colleagues take the next step in their development.
• Committed to high standards – you make sure your shop is safe, welcoming and well presented, with excellent product quality and full compliance with food safety procedures.
• Resilient and adaptable – you stay calm when priorities change, helping your team remain focused and keeping the shop moving forward.
• Flexible – wherever possible, we offer set shifts and provide rotas three weeks in advance, but some flexibility to support the needs of the business, including evenings and weekends, may be required.
