Financial Planning Trainee, 2027 at Cooper Parry in Derby, England, GB

About the role...

At Cooper Parry Wealth we’re a mould-breaking, bold decision-making, award-taking team. And we are looking for a passionate and proactive Financial Planning Trainee to join us, someone who loves working collaboratively, with communication at the heart of what they do.

The wealth management industry loves talking about the latest products that will make people rich. But we’ve flipped the traditional model on its head. Quite simply, we realised it’s broken and ineffective.

That’s why we made the bold decision to do things differently. And this is your chance to be a part of it by joining one of the most successful financial planning firms in the UK.

You would be joining in a full-time Client Services Assistant role. This is an exciting opportunity for someone at the beginning of their financial planning career who is eager to learn, develop new skills, and gain invaluable experience within a supportive and collaborative environment. This role is more than just a job; it's a development opportunity.

Alongside gaining practical, hands-on experience, you'll be fully supported on your journey towards achieving the Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning, providing you with the foundation, knowledge, and qualifications needed to progress within the profession.

Successful candidates will be invited to attend an Assessment Centre at our East Midlands (Sky View) office on 9th December, giving you the opportunity to meet the team, learn more about Cooper Parry and showcase your potential.

About you...

Here at Cooper Parry, we’re in it together. All we ask of our people is that they play all in, continuously strive to keep learning – whether they are a trainee or a Partner – be brave, open to learning, exploring new approaches and taking on new challenges. And above all of that, be nice!

You will need to be committed and have amazing project management skills to balance studies and the day job. You need to be curious about companies and see our work as part of their success.

If you are a School Leaver our minimum requirement would be having gained a minimum of 3 A Levels or equivalent with grades BBC (with a minimum of one A Level in numerical or business-related subjects)

At Cooper Parry we are mindful of candidates who may have extenuating circumstances whilst completing their education and did not meet the minimum academic requirements. We would be open to discuss and explore the pathway that matches you the best and welcome you to apply for the role, but please notify us of your extenuating circumstances that affected your results.

So, we look for people who...

• Have great attention to detail, with a passion for numbers, a knack for following processes and love delivering an exceptional client experience
• Possess great communication skills, can build rapport and are comfortable approaching clients and working closely with your colleagues
• Can adapt to changing priorities, and enjoys working in a dynamic environment where priorities can change and teamwork is important
• Able to multitask - processing data, chasing information and prioritising your own workload
• Are excited about Wealth and motivated to succeed in the role through learning, developing and making a positive contribution

About the day to day…

• Be responsible for our client’s data and information, making sure we are always up to date, accurate and ready to be able to deliver a fantastic service
• Regularly communicate and interact with clients and the internal teams
• Administer engagement of new clients and the servicing of existing clients
• Help the team to prepare, coordinate and follow up for client meetings
• Successfully manage a varied workload
