CAD/CNC Operator at Confidential in New Haven County, CT

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced CAD/ CNC Operator to join our custom Countertop Fabrication shop!

We are a fully digital fabrication shop specializing in high-end custom countertops, working primarily with marble, granite, quartzite, quartz, and sintered stone.

The potential candidate would take digitally templated project files, prepare and convert them using Alphacam, create optimized slab layouts using Slabsmith, and operate our CNC waterjet to produce precise, finished stone components.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, review, and prepare digitally templated countertop files for production.
• Convert digital template files in Alphacam for CNC fabrication.
• Review digital geometry, dimensions, and fabrication details to ensure files are production-ready.
• Create accurate and efficient slab layouts using Slabsmith.
• Account for material characteristics, grain direction, veining, color movement, seams, and design requirements when laying out slabs.
• Program, set up, and operate CNC waterjet.
• Produce highly accurate components from digital production files.
• Fabricate complex custom stone components, including:
• Mitered edges
• Waterfall panels
• Complex angles
• Intricate cutouts
• Architectural and specialty details
• Verify digital files, measurements, layouts, and material requirements before cutting.
• Identify potential fabrication issues before material is cut and communicate discrepancies when necessary.
• Optimize slab utilization while maintaining required vein direction, pattern movement, and finished appearance.
• Inspect completed cuts for dimensional accuracy and quality.
• Operate and maintain CNC & associated equipment

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in custom stone or countertop fabrication required.
• Experience with CNC Waterjet equipment REQUIRED
• Alphacam and Slabsmith experience required
• Familiarity with LT 2D3D, or similar digital templating systems is a plus.
• Strong understanding of stone fabrication, measurements, geometry, and complex custom work.
• Excellent attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced production environment.

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 60.0 per week
