College Medical Center is excited to expand our behavioral health services with the opening of a new Geriatric Psychiatry Unit. We are seeking compassionate, skilled, and patient-centered Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our team and provide exceptional care to an older adult population with complex medical and behavioral health needs.
This is a unique opportunity to combine your Med-Surg and Telemetry nursing expertise with behavioral health nursing in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
Position Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care, assesses patient needs, develops and implements nursing care plans, monitors patient conditions, and collaborates with the healthcare team to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care. The RN will care for geriatric psychiatric patients who may also have acute and chronic medical conditions requiring ongoing assessment and telemetry monitoring.
Essential Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Monitor and interpret telemetry data and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and hospital policies.
- Assess, monitor, and document patients' physical, emotional, and behavioral status.
- Recognize and respond to medical emergencies and psychiatric crises.
- Collaborate with physicians, behavioral health providers, social workers, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Educate patients and families regarding medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record.
- Promote a safe, therapeutic, and patient-centered environment.
Qualifications
Required
- Current Arizona Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Current BLS certification.
- Minimum one (1) year of Medical-Surgical and/or Telemetry nursing experience.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- ACLS certification.
- Experience working with geriatric patients.
- Behavioral health or psychiatric nursing experience.
- Experience in acute care hospital settings.

Schedule
- Full-Time
- Day and Night Shifts
- Weekend and holiday rotation as required
