Cochrane Supply continues to grow as we seek a Regional Support Specialist for our branch for Houston, TX.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Regional Support Specialist plays a key part in delivering technical excellence, elevating customer confidence, and promoting smart building technologies. The RSS provides technical support to internal and external customers, facilitates product training, and offers on-site troubleshooting within the Building Automation Systems (BAS)
space. Core duties and responsibilities include, but limited to:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for advanced technical product support in the region.
- Assist sales personnel by offering technical guidance during customer meetings, product demos, applicable events and informational sessions.
- Help identify customer needs and recommend solutions aligned with available BAS offerings for those products.
- Lead customer training and product education.
- Foster working relationships with BAS vendor contacts.
- Help communicate customer needs and product feedback to internal stakeholders.
- Monitor industry trends and competitive activity to inform team strategy.
- Champion assigned product lines to be the company’s technical point of contact for
- Act as the communication bridge between customers, support teams, and sales.
- Other duties as assigned.
Work Environment & Schedule:
This is a full-time position, working minimum 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, in an office environment between the Houston and San Antonio branches. This role also commutes to visit customers at off-site location(s).
Required Qualifications:
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, HVAC controls, computer science, or a related field.
- Niagara 4 Technical Certification
- 3-5 years of experience in BAS, system integration, technical support or a related technical role.
- 3-5 years of experience with HVAC or other building controls, controls protocols or field wiring.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Travel and weekend availability.
- General networking knowledge (TCP/IP, serial-based communications).
- Familiarity with Windows platform
Preferred Experience:
- Proficiency in HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and Java or other object-oriented programming languages
- Experience with database maintenance (MySQL, SQL Server, etc.) and web development
- Familiarity with common building controls protocols such as BACnet, LonWorks, and
- Modbus
- Electrical wiring experience

Compensation & Benefits:
This is a salaried position, paid bi-weekly, ranging between $80,000 and $120,000 per year. Starting salary is negotiable and based on qualifications experience.

The Company establishes annual employee bonuses determined based on key performance indicators (KPIs) specific to this role, as well as the overall performance of the company. Performance is reviewed annually. Final bonus amount is dependent on both individual achievements and the company’s financial results. The bonus program is discretionary and subject to change at any time at the company's sole discretion.
