Service Technician at Coastline Cooling, LLC. in Sarasota, FL

Job Description
Service Technician — Commercial Refrigeration, HVAC & Foodservice Equipment
Experienced. Independent. Trusted on our most demanding accounts.
Market: Sarasota | Bradenton | North Port
Full-Time | Field-Based | Healthcare & Foodservice Focus
Not Every Technician Gets Trusted With These Accounts
Coastline serves the customers who can't afford downtime — healthcare facilities where refrigerated medication and clinical equipment failures aren't an inconvenience, they're a patient safety issue, and national foodservice brands where a broken walk-in or a down combi-oven stops revenue the moment it happens.
We're hiring an experienced Service Technician who can walk onto any one of those calls — refrigeration, HVAC, or foodservice equipment including combi ovens — and diagnose and repair it independently. No ramp-up period, no hand-holding. If you've spent years earning that kind of trust in this trade, we want to put you in front of the accounts that deserve it.
What You'll Be Doing
- Full-scope diagnosis and repair across commercial refrigeration (walk-ins, reach-ins, ice machines), light commercial HVAC, and foodservice equipment — including combi ovens and other combination cooking platforms
- Servicing healthcare and foodservice accounts where uptime is mission-critical and documentation standards are high
- Working independently in the field — you own the call from diagnosis to completion, not just a checklist
- Preventative maintenance and warranty work alongside emergency repairs
- Direct coordination with your Regional Service Manager and Parts/Procurement on part sourcing and complex repairs
- Representing Coastline as the technician our national accounts specifically request back
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of hands-on experience across commercial refrigeration, HVAC, and/or foodservice equipment repair — combi oven experience is a strong plus
- EPA Certification (Type II or Universal) required; CFESA certification (or strong desire to pursue) strongly preferred
- Proven ability to diagnose and complete repairs independently, without constant supervision
- Comfortable working in healthcare environments — background check and any facility-specific credentialing requirements are part of the role
- Own hand tools; valid driver's license with an insurable driving record
- Strong communication skills — you'll be the face of Coastline in front of demanding, high-stakes customers
What matters as much as your technical skill is how you carry yourself on a call. We look for:
- Extreme Ownership — you own the outcome of every call, not just the task list
- Relentless Pursuit of Excellence — you're still sharpening your craft, not coasting on experience
- High Integrity — customers and teammates can take your word at face value
- Magnetic Personality — someone healthcare and foodservice clients are glad to see show up
Compensation & Benefits
We pay hourly, with overtime opportunities, and pay is directly tied to performance. Average combo technicians in this role earn $26–$36/hour, with up to 10 overtime hours per week ($63,883–$96,769 annually with OT).
We also value your time outside of work. If you're looking for 20+ hours of overtime every week, Coastline may not be the right fit — our regular operating hours are 7:00am–5:00pm, and many days you'll be done by 4:00pm. We want you home for dinner.
Plus, you'll receive:
- Consistent off-time by 5:00pm — our emergency on-call rotation (every 4–6 weeks, depending on market) still gets you home for dinner most nights
- Paid time off & holidays
- Comprehensive insurance — medical, dental, vision, and life coverage
- 401(k) with company match — Roth or Traditional options
- Newer company vehicles, top-tier tools & fresh uniforms — provided and customized to your preferences
- Fully paid continuing education & certifications, including CFESA Master Technician sponsorship and various Manufacturer Certifications each year
- Industry discounts & HVAC replacement perks
- Ongoing technical training & advancement
Why Experienced Techs Choose Coastline

- Decentralized, respected field role — you're trusted to own your calls, not micromanaged through them
- A team that keeps critical infrastructure running — healthcare, restaurants, schools, and military facilities all depend on the work you do
The Process
- Apply below through our application portal
- Technical conversation with your Regional Service Manager — we want to hear how you think through real repairs, not just what's on your resume
