TREE TRIMMER

Salary Range:

$59,413 - $76,560 (Employees hired after 02/06/2017)

$67,210 - $89,561 (Employees hired before 02/06/2017)

GENERAL: Performs tree trimming and preservation work; does related work as required.

MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: Either:

(A) Four (4) years of maintenance or laborer experience, one year of which involved tree work including climbing and working in trees.

(B) Possession of a high school or equivalency diploma and two (2) years of maintenance or labor experience, one year of which involved tree work including climbing and working in trees.

(C) Satisfactory completion of 30 credits at a college or university in Horticulture, Forestry, Arboriculture, Botany or a closely related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the general work experience as described above in (B). There is no substitution for the one year of work experience involving tree work including climbing and working in trees.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Possession of a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) (Class B) valid in New York State prior to the end of the probationary period to attain permanent status.
