God is doing great things at Cedarville University and we are excited for you to be part of it.

If you are a Marketing practitioner ready to teach, or a professor ready for a new academic opportunity, we want to talk with you! The Robert W. Plaster School of Business at Cedarville University invites applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor of Marketing.
Working at Cedarville University is more than a job; it’s a calling. Cedarville faculty invest in students both inside and outside the classroom, combining academic excellence with biblical truth, mentorship, and discipleship. We are looking for a colleague who wants to prepare students to excel professionally while honoring Christ through their work.
The Opportunity:
Most marketing curricula are still teaching the discipline the way it worked a decade ago. Cedarville wants a scholar-practitioner who's been living or researching the current version of it, AI-assisted content and analytics, always-on measurement, channels that didn't exist five years ago, and customers who are harder to reach and easier to lose, and who is ready to turn that experience into the education students actually need.
We're open to two very different paths into this role.
You might be a marketer who has built a career in industry and now wants to build people: trading campaign deadlines for the classroom, but not for something slower or smaller.
Or you might already be a professor, looking for a school that takes teaching, mentorship, and Christian mission as seriously as you do, with a business school and colleagues who will match your ambition.
Either way, you'll shape how the next generation of marketers thinks, decides, and leads.
This Is Probably You If . . .
Coming from Industry:
• You’ve run campaigns, built brands, or led marketing teams, and you’re just as proud of what you learned from what failed as what worked.
• You can’t help but keep up with how marketing is changing.
• You’re the one analyzing the Super Bowl commercials while everyone else is getting chips and dip.
• You want your work to outlast a single fiscal year by mentoring students as they grow in confidence, clarify their calling, and prepare for meaningful careers.
Coming from Academia:
• Consumer behavior genuinely fascinates you, and you believe research is the unlock behind marketing effectiveness.
• You believe marketing done well is a form of service: understanding people honestly and connecting them to something that helps them.
• You’re a lifelong learner who wants to help students connect what they learn in class to the world they are entering.
• You already talk about AI in marketing, attribution, and customer data in ways many professors are still learning.
• You’re a builder by instinct: of curriculum, students, and industry partnerships, not just a lecturer.
What You Will Do:
• Teach across the marketing curriculum: principles, strategy, consumer behavior, research, digital marketing, advertising and IMC, and sales, etc.
• Help students turn research and consumer insight into strong creative strategy, clear messaging, and effective campaigns.
• Keep the program current: content strategy, social and lifecycle marketing, segmentation, conversion, and performance measurement.
• Teach students to use AI and emerging marketing technology competently and ethically, with a clear-eyed view of truthfulness, privacy, and customer trust.
• Build applied learning that gets students out of the classroom: live client work, casework, internships, competitions, and direct contact with practitioners.
• Advise and mentor students through their academic and vocational decisions, and through the powerful questions of character and calling.
Position Qualifications:
• The strongest candidates will possess a terminal degree, preferably a Ph.D. or D.B.A. in marketing or a closely related field. Candidates with strong experience in the desired focus areas, professional certifications and an MBA or MS in Marketing will be considered.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A desire to mentor students and help prepare them for successful careers.
• A commitment to biblical integration in and out of the classroom.
• A personal commitment to and faith in Jesus Christ and willingness to abide by and agreement with the Cedarville University’s Doctrinal Statement, Community Covenant, and General Workplace Standards.
You don't need to check every box below, but the strongest candidates will bring real, demonstrable depth in several of these:
• Marketing analytics, research, consumer behavior, data visualization, and experimentation
• Digital strategy, content, e-commerce, and measurable growth marketing
• CRM, marketing automation, lifecycle marketing, and audience segmentation
• Brand strategy, integrated marketing communications, and client-facing advertising work
• Responsible, hands-on use of AI in marketing research, content, and analytics
• Ability to teach non-marketing core business classes (e.g., statistics or introduction to business).
We Offer an Exceptional Employee Experience:
• A commitment to Scripture that informs everything we do –transforming lives through excellent education and equipping students to stand for the Word of God and the Testimony of Jesus Christ. We are a mission-led, Christian institution with numerous opportunities for your growth and contributions.
• An excellent and comprehensive employee benefits program for eligible employees and their families.
• Meaningful Christian community and fellowship among students, faculty, and staff.
• A beautiful, well-maintained campus with modern facilities in the serene, family-oriented town of Cedarville, Ohio.
• Free access to our first-class Athletic and Recreation Facilities.
• Free employee parking.
• Free access to Centennial Library campus resources.
• Campus Bookstore and Campus Dining Hall discounts.
• Opportunities to foster growth through chapel and other university-sponsored events.
• Opportunities to share the gospel worldwide through Global Outreach mission trips.
