Job Description
Apply Description Essential Functions Screens and evaluates patients/residents and develops appropriate care plan. Under a physician's direction, provides direct patient/resident treatment based on established plan of care. Plans, directs, or conducts rehabilitative treatment programs to restore communicative efficiency of individuals with communication and/or swallowing or cognitive problems. Administers, scores, and interprets specialized hearing and speech tests. Instructs residents/patients, families, and caregivers to monitor speech and provide ways to practice new skills. Completes required forms and clinical records in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations. Documents in patient records in an accurate and timely manner. Devises special tools and treatments for the specific needs of patients. Provides comprehensive and compassionate therapy services in a sub-acute/skilled nursing facility setting. Works collaboratively with other rehab therapists and nursing staff in a supportive team-working environment. Maintains resident/patient privacy pursuant to HIPAA. Ensures punctuality and regular attendance for assigned shifts. Requirements Qualifications Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Language Pathology required. Licenses/Certification: Current license in Speech Language Therapy as required by state law. Valid CPR certification required. Experience: Six months experience in a long-term care environment preferred. Salary Description $50-$60/hr
