CCC-SLP and Massachusetts licensure required. Inpatient SLP experience and feeding/dysphagia expertise required.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Evaluates patients using appropriate tests and clinical assessment techniques to determine functional status, communication and/or swallowing needs, and develops individualized treatment plans based on findings.
- Provides evidence-based speech-language pathology treatment to pediatric patients, including patients with feeding and swallowing needs, and educates families, caregivers, teachers, and other support personnel to promote carryover of therapeutic interventions.
- Monitors and documents patient progress, communicates findings and recommendations to families and the interdisciplinary care team, and collaborates with other disciplines to ensure coordinated care.
- Manages assigned caseload and documentation in accordance with department productivity, quality, safety, and regulatory standards, and provides coverage across service areas as needed.
- Serves as a clinical resource within areas of expertise and may provide supervision or mentorship to graduate students, clinical fellows, and other staff as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Master’s degree from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program required.
- Inpatient speech-language pathology experience required.
- Minimum of one year of experience diagnosing and treating dysphagia required; pediatric experience preferred.
- Minimum of one year of infant feeding experience strongly preferred.
- SOFFI and/or EFS training preferred.
- Experience with Modified Barium Swallow Studies/Video Fluoroscopic Swallow Studies (MBS/VFSS) preferred.
Licensure and Certification
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA required.
- Current Massachusetts Speech-Language Pathologist license required.
- Current CPR certification required and must be maintained throughout employment.
