About the Client The client consists of entrepreneurs and multifamily real estate experts who leverage a disciplined investment platform, nimble execution, and a long-term outlook to identify compelling real estate opportunities.
Job Summary The Job Cost Accountant oversees day-to-day financial management across all ongoing projects. Key responsibilities include maintaining internal controls, tracking real estate financials, and delivering regular property-level reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Initial Duties & Draw Preparation
- Code, route, sort, and electronically file invoices and loan draw packets.
- Research vendor statements and historical payment records.
- Execute routine data entry, financial tracking, and reconciliation using standard accounting practices.
- Process and track change orders for vendors, subcontractors, and consultants.
- Assist the Job Cost Manager with operational procedures, controls, and reporting requirements.
Growth Opportunities & Advanced Duties
- Complete month-end close, bank reconciliations, and financial statement analysis for assigned projects.
- Generate budget variance reports and historical/YTD performance comparisons.
- Independently resolve routine operational issues and manage special projects.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in construction or real estate accounting/financial management (Sage 300 CRE/Timberline, GCPay, or Procore preferred).
- High attention to detail with an outgoing, proactive mindset.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills across digital tools (Zoom, Teams, chat).
Technical & Schedule Needs
- Work Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM or 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM MST.
- Fiber Optic internet connection (minimum 25 Mbps bandwidth).
- Dedicated backup desktop or laptop running a current operating system.
