Bender CCP is looking for a skilled ID Grinder to join our Vernon team! We specialize in engineered equipment repair, precision machining, and the refurbishment of critical industrial components used across industries such as power generation, oil and gas, mining, and manufacturing.

In this role, you'll use your hands-on grinding and machining experience to restore and manufacture components to exact engineering and customer specifications. What You'll Do

• Set up and operate internal diameter (ID) grinding machines using manual conventional and/or CNC equipment.

• Grind, repair, and refurbish industrial components to meet customer and engineering specifications.

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, job travelers, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).

• Select the appropriate grinding wheels, tooling, speeds, and feeds for each job.

• Use precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, bore gauges, calipers, and indicators.

• Maintain tight tolerances, potentially ±0.0005 inches or better, depending on job requirements.

• Perform in-process and final inspections to verify dimensional accuracy and quality.

• Troubleshoot grinding issues and identify appropriate corrective actions.

• Maintain equipment and work areas while following established safety and quality procedures.

• Collaborate with machining, engineering, and quality teams to complete jobs accurately and efficiently.

What We're Looking For

• 2+ years of combined experience in ID grinding and manual conventional machining, including mills, lathes, or vertical turning lathes (VTLs).

• Hands-on experience setting up and operating ID grinding equipment.

• Strong understanding of grinding and machining principles.

• Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and GD&T.

• Experience in a repair shop, machine shop, job shop, or engineered equipment environment.

• Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a team.

• Commitment to safe work practices and high-quality workmanship.

Technical training or apprenticeship experience is preferred. Experience with large or complex components, multiple metal types, and ISO-based quality systems is a plus.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–3:00 PM. Must be available for overtime as needed.

This is an on-site position in Vernon, California. Candidates must be able to work safely in an industrial environment, stand for extended periods, and lift up to 40 pounds with or without assistance.
