Sales Development Representative (U.S.)

beehiiv is where the world's best newsletters, podcasts, and digital products are built, grown, and distributed. The platform combines email, podcast hosting, websites, community, and digital products — connected to a single audience and a single set of tools to publish, grow, and monetize. As we approach $50M in annualized revenue and continue to grow almost 100% YoY, our rapidly growing product suite and incredibly strong brand position us for the next stage of hypergrowth.

We’re hiring a Sales Development Representative. Our customers are newsletter-first media companies, publishers, and brands, many of them moving off tools that weren’t purpose-built for media-first operators, like Sailthru, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Iterable, and Mailchimp. Inbound demand is strong, and we’re scaling our outbound program.

We already have the tools, process, and infrastructure to find the right people at the right companies. Your job is simple: be extremely good at talking to prospects over the phone, write really good emails, and book qualified meetings for our AEs.

Top performers have a clear path to AE. We look for creative, hungry people who aren't afraid to pick up the phone, can write like a human, and are extremely driven.

Candidates must be based in the U.S. Compensation depends on experience. To apply, you must complete our Values Assessment Questionnaire here. We will consider your responses alongside your qualifications and experience as part of our overall hiring process.

Ideally, you'll have:

• 1-2 years as an SDR/BDR at a B2B SaaS company, ideally selling to mid-market accounts with multiple stakeholders
• A track record of generating qualified meetings and pipeline through cold outbound, not just inbound qualification
• A love of prospecting: you find creative ways into target accounts instead of waiting for leads
• Comfort on the phone: cold calls don't scare you, and you treat them as a core channel
• You write like a human: you can write a personalized email in under 10 minutes that a buyer will open and reply to
• Research instincts: you can dig into a company, find the right buyer and build a credible point of view (POV) on why they should care about beehiiv
• Coachability: you ask for feedback, act on it fast and can show how you've improved
• Media, publishing, creator economy or martech experience is a huge plus

What you’ll be responsible for:

• Owning your number: Hit monthly goals for qualified meetings and new pipeline.
• Cold calls: you will spend a lot of time on the phone
• Emails / Socials: Run multi-channel sequences across email, and socials. Test, iterate and double down on what works.
• Qualifying and handing off: Qualify fit, urgency and decision process, then hand off to AEs with the context they need to win.
• Triaging inbound: Qualify inbound interest quickly, route what's ready to AEs and nurture what isn't.
• Keeping HubSpot clean: Log activity and keep contact, account and stage data accurate so the team can trust the pipeline.
• Partnering with AEs: Align on target accounts, messaging and account strategy. Operate as a single unit.
• Bringing back signal: Share objections, competitive intel and messaging that lands with Sales, Marketing and Product.

Why this role might be for you:

• You want to break into or speed up a career in SaaS sales, with a clear path to AE.
• You'd rather build pipeline than wait for it.
• You're motivated by clear KPIs and want your name at the top of the leaderboard.
• You want to sell a product customers love at a company growing 100% YoY.
• You're excited to learn from experienced AEs.
• You’re hungry to earn.

Why this role might not be for you:

• You want a traditional 9-to-5
• You don't enjoy outbound prospecting or the rejection that comes with it
• You prefer one priority at a time
• You don't like rapid iteration and context switching
• You'd trade quality for speed, or speed for quality
