The Vancouver Convention Centre is currently hiring a Part-Time Event Experience Ambassador.
Job Summary:
As an Event Experience Ambassador, you will be the welcoming face of our venue, ensuring every guest, client, and visitor receives exceptional service from arrival to departure. You’ll provide wayfinding assistance, respond to inquiries and concerns, act as a concierge during events, and help maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for all. This role is ideal for someone who is people-focused, proactive, and passionate about delivering operational excellence. There are extensive periods of standing and walking throughout the venue.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome all visitors with a professional and friendly demeanor.
- Respond to guest and client questions, concerns, or feedback in a timely and helpful manner.
- Provide accurate directions and information about the venue and surrounding area.
- Serve as an event host or concierge for designated events, supporting both guests and event teams.
- Monitor guest areas for suspicious or unsafe activity and report issues promptly.
- Stay informed of daily venue activities to deliver consistent and knowledgeable support to all stakeholders.
- Support event-specific guest services, including hosting, ticketing, and coat check duties as required.
- Provide guest services support at the Event Operations Centre, including assisting internal teams.
- You'll be on your feet for up to 7 hours. We believe in guest experience...and strong, comfortable shoes.
Qualifications:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and customer service mindset.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
- Previous experience in hospitality, guest services, or event support is a plus.
- Physical requirements include extensive periods of standing and/or walking throughout the venue.
