AI & Automation Intern at Axo Longevity in Europe

We are looking for a highly proactive and hands-on AI & Business Generalist Intern to join our AI startup.

This is a cross-functional role for someone who is interested in AI and automation but also wants to gain exposure to different areas of the business. You may work on AI agents and automations, marketing initiatives, operations, research, partnerships, or other projects depending on the company’s priorities.

We are looking for someone who learns quickly, takes ownership, works independently, and is willing to take on different types of challenges.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities may include:

• Building and orchestrating AI agents and automated workflows
• Identifying business processes that can be improved through AI or automation
• Connecting AI tools with APIs, databases, and other systems
• Researching and testing new AI tools and technologies
• Supporting marketing and growth initiatives
• Supporting partnerships and business development
• Conducting market and customer research
• Improving internal processes and operations
• Supporting content, campaigns, and community initiatives
• Developing prototypes and testing new ideas
• Taking ownership of ad-hoc projects across the business

This is a generalist role, so responsibilities will evolve based on the needs and priorities of the company.

What we are looking for

• Strong interest in AI and automation
• You actively experiment with AI and are interested in understanding how it can be applied to real business problems.
• Experience with tools such as LLMs, AI agents, Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, n8n, Make, Zapier, APIs, MCP, RAG, or other automation and AI technologies is a plus.
• You do not need to know every tool listed above. We value the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
• Demonstrated ability to build

We strongly value candidates who have already built something independently.

This could include:

• AI agents
• Automations or workflows
• Websites or applications
• AI-powered tools
• Side projects
• University projects
• GitHub projects
• Internal tools
• Other technology or business projects

The project does not need to be commercially successful or highly sophisticated. We want to understand your ability to identify a problem, develop a solution, and execute independently.

Business mindset

You should be interested not only in how something can be built, but also in why it should be built.

We value candidates who think about:

Customer needs
Business impact
Efficiency
Growth
Revenue
Prioritization
Measuring results
Autonomy and ownership

You will often be given a problem rather than a detailed set of instructions.

We are looking for someone who can independently research, identify possible solutions, experiment, execute, and communicate progress.

Adaptability

As a startup, our priorities can change quickly. You should be comfortable working across different functions and taking on tasks outside your initial area of expertise.

A willingness to contribute wherever the business needs support is essential for this role.

Startup experience

Previous startup experience is a plus, but not required.

Experience in a fast-paced environment where you had to take ownership, work with ambiguity, or build processes from scratch is highly relevant.

What we are not looking for

This role may not be a good fit if you:

Prefer highly structured environments with predefined responsibilities
Require detailed instructions for every task
Are interested in AI only from a theoretical perspective
Have never experimented with AI, automation, or technology independently
Prefer to work exclusively within one functional area
Are uncomfortable with ambiguity or changing priorities
Are not interested in taking ownership of projects
Application requirements

Please include at least one of the following in your application:

1. Previous startup experience Briefly describe your experience working in a startup, including your responsibilities.

OR

1. A project you have built Share a link to a relevant project, GitHub repository, demo, Loom, website, screenshots, or other evidence of your work.

If you have both, even better.

For projects, please briefly explain the problem you were trying to solve, what you built, and which technologies or tools you used.

We place significant value on demonstrated initiative, execution, and the ability to learn independently.

Working setup
Paid internship
100% remote
Availability during European afternoons
Ideally a 6-month commitment
High level of autonomy and ownership
Cross-functional responsibilities
Fast-paced startup environment
FAQ
Do I need a Computer Science degree?

No. We consider candidates from different academic backgrounds. Demonstrated ability to learn, build, and solve problems is more important than a specific degree.

Do I need professional AI experience?

Not necessarily. Personal projects, university projects, freelance work, or independent experimentation with AI and automation are highly relevant.

Do I need to know how to code?

Coding experience is a plus but is not strictly required. We are interested in candidates who can build using code, APIs, automation platforms, no-code/low-code tools, or a combination of these.

Is previous startup experience required?

No. It is one of the ways to demonstrate relevant experience, but candidates can also demonstrate their ability through a project they have built.

Is this primarily an AI role?

AI and automation are an important part of the role, but this is not a purely technical position. You may also work on marketing, growth, partnerships, operations, research, content, and other business initiatives.

Will I have a fixed set of responsibilities?

No. This is a generalist startup role. Your responsibilities will evolve based on company priorities and your strengths.

What should I submit if I do not have a formal portfolio?

You can submit any relevant project you have built, including a personal project, university project, automation, GitHub repository, prototype, demo, Loom, or screenshots.

We are particularly interested in seeing evidence of initiative, experimentation, and execution.
