About the role: We are seeking an experienced Sterilisation Technician to join our dedicated Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD) team. This full-time role is responsible for providing high-quality sterilisation and reprocessing services to support our ophthalmology practice.
What you'll be doing:
- Carefully cleaning, decontaminating and sterilising medical equipment and surgical instruments
- Maintaining a high level of cleanliness and organisation
- Ensuring all sterilisation processes comply with relevant standards and regulations
- Assisting with the assembly and packing of sterile instrument sets
- Keeping detailed records of all sterilisation activities
- Collaborating with the clinical team to address any sterilisation or reprocessing issues
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of CSSD operations
What we're looking for:
- Formal qualification in Sterilisation Technology (NZ Certificate in Sterilising Technology (level 3)
- Minimum 1 years of experience working as a Sterilisation Technician - ideally in a medical or healthcare setting
- Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality and safety
- Full drivers lisence as this role will have to drive to our outer clinics
- Ability to follow complex protocols and procedures with a high degree of accuracy
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with healthcare professionals
