Sales Assistant

HRD is recruiting a Sales Assistant for a customer-facing role in Birmingham. f you enjoy speaking to people and would like to build a career in sales, we’d like to hear from you. Previous sales experience is welcome, but not essential as we also consider applicants looking for their first sales role.

The role

As a Sales Assistant, you’ll speak with customers f, find out what matters to them and help them choose a service that suits their needs. One customer might want a quick explanation of the price. Another might have several questions before they feel ready to decide. Your job is to listen, give them accurate information and help them complete their order if they choose to go ahead.

What you’ll do

• Start conversations with potential customers and introduce the services available..
• Talk customers through prices and terms so they understand what they’re signing up for.
• Complete orders accurately and explain what happens next.
• Work towards individual sales targets and use feedback from your team leader to improve.

What we’re looking for

You’ll suit this role if you’re comfortable introducing yourself to someone new, can keep a conversation going and know when to give someone space. We value people who arrive prepared, follow through on what they say and ask for help when they need it.

Experience in retail, hospitality or customer service can give you a good starting point. If you’ve helped a customer choose between two options or stayed patient during a busy shift, you already have skills you can bring to this role.

Training and development

You’ll receive product training and practical coaching on starting conversations, answering common questions and completing a sale. As you gain experience, you’ll have opportunities to develop your skills further, including helping newer colleagues learn the role.
