Job Description
Summary: Andersen Corporation is a leading window and door company committed to delivering exceptional experiences. They are seeking a Builder for their 2nd shift to perform various assembly tasks, quality checks, and maintain a safe work environment while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Review work orders
- Locate windows and doors
- Build unit according to specifications
- Attach accessories and custom items
- Perform quality checks to assure conformance to standards
- Package units- Sign-off on work orders
- Stage for Shipping
- Apply and scan bar codes
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Cut and prep custom extrusions to exact measurements
- Operate casing saw
- Operate the automated production line
- Cut down packaging materials
- Operate tilt tables
- Train personnel as needed
- Assure conformance with 5S program
- Assure compliance with all related safety policies and procedures
- Perform Safety audits
- Follow standard work, control plans, and written work instructions
- Follow proper lifting techniques
- Follow directions given by the Management team
- Support and participate in Lean initiatives
- Serve as a member of the Department team, providing assistance as needed
- Participate in the continuous improvement process
- Coach and train new associates
Required Qualifications:
- High School Graduate/GED/HSED
- Ability to operate basic hand tools
- Basic reading and math skills
- Ability to read a tape measure
- Computer skills
- Ability to operate bar coder
- Demonstrated broad product knowledge
- Oral communication skills
- Basic team skills
- Basic organizational skills
- Physical ability to perform job duties
- Demonstrated ability to work without direct supervision
- Understanding of related safety policies and procedures
