Job Description
Summary: Amivero is a company that delivers digital services to enhance federal government operations. They are seeking a Summer Intern to support key initiatives across their technology organization, providing hands-on experience in IT and the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects.
Responsibilities:
- Check emails, tickets, and messages for updates, tasks, or helpdesk requests
- Attend team stand-up meetings to discuss project progress and daily goals
- Provide updates on task progress during team check-ins or one-on-one meetings with mentors
- Communicate any completed tasks or pending issues to relevant team members
- Maintain open communication with mentors and colleagues to foster a collaborative work environment
- Respond to helpdesk tickets and troubleshoot basic hardware, software, and connectivity issues
- Assist with user account management, including password resets, access requests, and onboarding/offboarding support
- Escalate complex issues to senior IT staff with clear documentation of the problem and steps taken
- Review project documents and notes to prepare for upcoming tasks
- Work on individual tasks assigned by project leads or supervisors
- Participate in brainstorming sessions or team meetings to generate ideas for project enhancement
- Collaborate with team members on ongoing IT projects, offering support and assistance where needed
- Conduct research on industry trends, emerging technologies, or specific topics related to assigned projects
- Assist with documentation of IT processes, procedures, and knowledge base articles
- Maintain accurate records of company assets, including hardware, software, and equipment
- Conduct regular audits to track inventory levels and identify discrepancies or shortages
- Coordinate with procurement and IT staff to replenish stock and ensure availability of necessary resources
- Utilize inventory management software to track movement and location of assets, facilitating efficient retrieval and allocation
- Assist with equipment setup, configuration, and deployment for new and existing employees
- Support routine maintenance tasks such as software updates, patches, and system checks
- Follow IT security policies and best practices in all daily activities
- Finalize any outstanding tasks and ensure all deliverables meet quality standards
- Review feedback received from supervisors or team members and incorporate suggestions for improvement
- Wrap up the day by organizing notes, updating task lists, and preparing for the next day's activities
- Use opportunities to network and learn more about different roles within the company

- Stay adaptable and flexible to accommodate any changes or new tasks that may arise throughout the day
Required Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship Required
- Must be a college senior, currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or similar
- Information Technology Experience
- Ability to commute to Reston, VA a min of 2x per week
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, allowing for effective collaboration with team members and clear articulation of ideas
- Comfortable working with various tools and software relevant to the industry, enabling efficient completion of tasks and projects
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and environments, remaining resilient and proactive in overcoming challenges
