Job Description
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant with a strong background in project accounting and knowledge of Microsoft Business Central. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the tasks with operations associated with project accounting, the month-end close process, transactional processing, and assisting operations with Business Central functionality. The position will reside in the MTI office with a reporting relationship to the Midwest Controller in Chicago.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounting and Financial Analysis: Lead the month-end close process, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements. Assist in the preparation of the yearly budget and provide insights and analysis to support decision-making. Maintain and enhance internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial data and compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Project Accounting: Oversee project accounting activities. Work with the sales team, utilizing Business Central to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of project costs, revenues, and profitability, including warranty coordination with clients.
- Business Central: Be the system expert assisting the sales team with CRM functionality and the accounting functions. Responding to inquiries timely and ensure the data in the system is accurate and complete.
- Customer and Vendor Invoice Processing: Review, prepare, and process daily invoices and cash receipts, including any applicable sales tax. Assist with preparing the weekly cash forecast and processing of the cash disbursements.
- Warranty and Inventory Coordination: Coordinate any warranty work with the sales team and assist the warehouse manager with inventory tasks including physical counts, pricing and analysis.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, to ensure accurate financial reporting and support business objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Business Central, and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively and collaborate with various stakeholders.
Estimated Salary: $85,000-$95,000/yr. with flexibility based on experience and skills
