Ally and Your Career
Ally Financial only succeeds when its people do - and that’s more than some cliché people put on job postings. We love this stuff! We see our people as, well, people - with interests, families, friends, dreams, and causes that are all important to them. Our focus is on the health and safety of our teammates as well as work-life balance and diversity and inclusion. From generous benefits to a variety of employee resource groups, we strive to build paths that encourage employees to stretch themselves professionally. We want to help you grow, develop, and learn new things. You’re constantly evolving, so shouldn’t your opportunities be, too?

Work Schedule: Ally designates roles as (1) fully on-site, (2) hybrid, or (3) fully remote. Hybrid roles are generally expected to be in the office a certain number of days per week as indicated by your manager. Your hiring manager will discuss this role's specific work requirements with you during the hiring process. All work requirements are subject to change at any time based on leader discretion and/or business need.

The Opportunity

Candidate must reside in, or be willing to relocate to, within a one hour drive of Rockford, Elgin or Waukegan, IL requiring local travel throughout the surrounding Chicago North sales market. Company vehicle provided.

Successful account executives love to play. Creativity drives them – they throw new ideas against the wall and watch them stick. In this role, you’ll expand product offerings in existing business through cross-selling and increase market share with new clients. You’ll balance your compassion and empathy for everyone involved in the sales process. We see our account executives as problem solvers who are resilient, can face adversity, aren’t afraid of rejection and emerge as champions when times are tough. If you want flexibility, training to improve your skills and a management team that champions you and backs you up, Ally is the place to be.

The Work Itself

• You’ll sell finance & insurance (F&I) product lines to meet targeted goals by explaining corporate programs and service capabilities, while effectively overcoming objections.
• You’ll service current customers by maintaining rapport, making regular visits (there’s a lot of travel involved with this role), evaluating customer's needs for new opportunities, and replying to requests.
• You’ll also identify non-F&I opportunities and coordinate with the Insurance Specialist (identify new customers, estimate growth volume and qualify prospects).
• To ensure customers are fully knowledgeable with Ally’s products, you’ll assist in training F&I Managers within our dealerships.
• To sustain your success, you’ll maintain current knowledge about our competitors, market threats and challenges, maintain professional and technical knowledge by participating in training, and remain involved in the industry, respective area and trade associations.

The Qualifications We’re Looking For

• Manager or above in-dealership or auto dealer interfacing experience.
• The ability to develop relationships with dealer principals and decision makers.
• You have well-developed business management, presentation and relationship selling skills.
• Holding yourself accountable is important to you. Being effective at prioritizing tasks is second nature.
• You’ve branded yourself as a problem solver and you objectively manage conflicting priorities.

Minimum Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience
• High school Diploma or GED equivalent
