Job Description
Summary: Allison Transmission is a company that has powered vehicles and technology for over 100 years. They are seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Intern to assist the EHS team in establishing a safe work environment and contribute to various projects in the manufacturing engineering department.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and design of work holding fixtures
- Time studies of machining operations
- Performing ECN (Engineering Change Notices) to Manufacturing Prints
- Create CAD model of parts in configurations in-line with machining processes
- Create machining layouts showing the operator how to install work holding
- Assist in error proofing machining/assembly operations
- Engineering Data Entry (Tool cards, record books, routings)
Required Qualifications:
- An in-process Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering, Industrial Technology or Mechanical Engineering Technology or other related fields of study
- Ability to work with people in an industrial environment
- Computer proficient (Word, Excel, etc.)
- CAD experience required (Solid Works preferred)
- Knowledge of basic manufacturing techniques is helpful
- Experience and/or knowledge working in or around machine shop or machining is a plus
