Al yazeem general contracting and maintenance LLC SPC
IT Support Specialist at Al yazeem… · Abu Dhabi
Job Description
About the role
We run a modern Microsoft 365 / Entra ID environment with a growing set of internal business applications, including an ERP and HR system, a company password manager, and a staff apps portal with single sign-on. Your job is to own office IT end to end: day-to-day helpdesk, device setup, printers and network, and making sure every employee can actually use the systems we provide.
You'll work independently on the ground, with an external infrastructure team behind you for escalations on servers and back-end systems.
What you'll do
Help people, every day
- Be the single point of contact for IT issues — walk-ups, calls, and tickets — and see each one through to resolution.
- Troubleshoot Windows PCs, laptops, and mobile devices for staff at every level of technical comfort.
- Support remote and branch staff using remote-desktop tooling.
Set up and manage devices
- Prepare new computers: join them to Microsoft Entra ID, install the standard app set, and hand them over ready to work.
- Run onboarding and offboarding: new hires productive on day one; leavers' access revoked and devices reclaimed the day they go.
- Keep the fleet healthy — Windows updates, antivirus, and disk encryption applied everywhere.
Work on the hardware itself
- Diagnose and repair PCs at the component level: RAM and storage upgrades, GPU replacement and setup, power supplies, and peripheral swaps.
- Build or upgrade workstations when a role needs more power, and keep spare parts on hand for quick fixes.
- Do the physical cable work: run and terminate network cables, patch desks and panels, and keep desks, racks, and cabling tidy and labelled.
Administer Microsoft 365
- Handle first-line M365 and Entra ID administration: user accounts, groups, licenses, password and MFA resets.
- Resolve everyday Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint problems.
Own printers, peripherals, and the network
- Install and maintain network printers and scanners; fix driver, queue, and connectivity issues; manage supplies and the print vendor.
- Keep office Wi-Fi and the wired network working: access points, switches, patching new desks, and separating staff and guest networks.
- Liaise with the internet provider and hardware vendors when something needs escalating or buying.
Look after the office's other tech
- Maintain and troubleshoot the CCTV system: cameras, recorder, storage, and viewing access for authorised staff.
- Manage door access control: issue and revoke cards/fobs, keep access groups current, and fix reader issues.
- Support office telephony and meeting rooms: desk/IP phones, screens, and video-conferencing gear that just works when a meeting starts.
Make our apps work for people
- Get every employee set up on our internal systems — ERP/HR, the company password manager, and the staff apps portal — and be their first line of help.
- Write and maintain simple how-to guides and setup checklists so common questions answer themselves.
Keep us secure and organised
- Enforce the basics: MFA everywhere, screen locks, no shared or written-down passwords, prompt handling of suspicious-email reports.
- Maintain the inventory of hardware, warranties, and software licenses, and recommend purchases before things break.
- Log your work in the ticket system and keep documentation current — the next person should never start from zero.
What we're looking for
- 2+ years in IT support / helpdesk in a Windows environment.
- Hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365 and Entra ID (users, groups, MFA, licenses).
- Solid Windows 10/11 troubleshooting, from hardware to profiles to software conflicts.
- Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, Wi-Fi troubleshooting.
- Comfortable inside the machine: swapping RAM, storage, GPUs, and power supplies, and terminating/patching network cables.
- Real-world experience supporting network printers and scanners.
- Patient, clear communication with non-technical colleagues — in person, in English; Arabic is a strong advantage.
- The discipline to document what you do and finish what you start.
Nice to have
- Microsoft Intune or other endpoint-management experience.
- Basic PowerShell scripting.
- Exposure to any ERP or HR system; basic Linux familiarity.
- UAE driving license, for occasional visits to other sites.
- Network / Microsoft certification.
Pay: AED3,000.00 - AED6,000.00 per month
