Love Working with Kids? We Have a Job for You!
At Akoya Behavioral Health, we're looking for caring, dependable people to join our team as Behavior Technicians (BTs) and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs).
As a BT/RBT, you'll work one-on-one with children with autism, helping them learn new skills, build confidence, and become more independent.
Some days you'll celebrate big milestones. Other days, you'll be working through challenges together. Either way, you'll have the opportunity to make a difference in a child's day.
Already an RBT? Great! No ABA experience? That's okay, too. We provide training, certification support, and ongoing guidance from our clinical team.
What Does a Typical Day Look Like?
This is a hands-on role, and no two days look exactly the same. You'll spend your time working directly with children in their homes or at one of our centers.
You might spend your day:
Playing games, reading books, or doing activities that help a child practice communication and social skills
Teaching everyday skills like asking for help, following routines, or becoming more independent
Helping children work through challenging moments with patience and support
Celebrating progress, whether it's a big milestone or a small step forward
Following treatment plans developed by your supervising BCBA
Tracking progress and completing session notes
Working with your BCBA and teammates to help each child succeed
It's an active job that requires patience, flexibility, and a willingness to learn. But it's also a job where you get to see the impact of your work firsthand.
Why Work at Akoya?
We know that working with children can be both rewarding and challenging. We want our team members to have the training, support, and opportunities they need to feel confident in their roles.
Here's what we offer:
Competitive Pay: $18–$23/hour, based on experience and qualifications
Full-Time & Part-Time Positions: Opportunities starting at 15 hours per week
Health, Dental & Vision Insurance: Available to eligible full-time employees
Paid Time Off: Available to eligible employees
Mileage Reimbursement: For eligible travel between client sessions
Clinical Support: Ongoing guidance and feedback from experienced BCBAs
Career Growth: Opportunities to become a Lead RBT or pursue a career as a BCBA
Opportunities to Grow
Whether you're looking for a part-time position or hoping to build a long-term career in ABA, there are opportunities to grow at Akoya.
If you're new to the field, we'll help you learn the basics and work toward becoming an RBT.
If you're already certified, you can continue developing your clinical skills, explore leadership opportunities, or gain experience as you work toward becoming a BCBA.
We want our team members to continue learning and growing throughout their time with us.
You Might Be a Great Fit If You:
Enjoy working with children
Are patient, dependable, and willing to learn
Can stay calm and flexible when things don't go as planned
Are comfortable being active throughout the day
Communicate well and are open to feedback
Can maintain a consistent schedule and reliable attendance
Enjoy working independently while also being part of a team
What You'll Need:
High school diploma or GED
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Ability to pass required background checks
Must have the physical stamina and mobility to actively engage with children, including sitting, standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 45 pounds, and effective visual and auditory communication.
Willingness to complete required training
Experience in ABA, childcare, education, psychology, or a related field is helpful, but not required.
