Summer Internship - Business Improvement at Airbus in Boca Raton, FL

Summary: Airbus is a leader in aerospace, and they are seeking a Summer Intern to join their Business Improvement & Supply Chain Team. This role offers hands-on experience in improving efficiency and implementing innovative solutions in the supply chain operations. Responsibilities: - Assist the fulfillment and logistics teams in mapping current warehouse processes (e.g., picking, packing, shipping) and identifying opportunities for digital and physical efficiency improvements - Research innovative warehouse operations technologies, e.g. robotics, self-driving vehicles, for pick, pack, storage, and transport - Work with the IT and Operations team on digital innovative improvements, reduction of paper and manual steps, e.g. barcode scanning, RFID, picture identification and reading, document reading, comparisons with AI and integration to SAP - Support the business development initiatives by collecting, analyzing, and synthesizing key operational data into actionable reports and presentations to support management decisions - Work closely with the warehouse team to understand daily operations and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards - Prepare research results in presentations, efficiency comparisons, and budget proposals Required Qualifications: - Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree at an accredited college or university - Ability to work in the US without current, or future, need of visa sponsorship/work authorization is required for this role - Capable of working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment both independently and collectively - Dependable, self-motivated and accessible - Able to prioritize concurrent assignments with guidance - Capable of creating and delivering technical documents and presentations with guidance - Strong computer background, including MS Excel and Google Suite application experience (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail) - Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written) - Interpersonal skills are necessary to effectively interface with all levels of personnel and disciplines - Effectively communicate issues, solutions, ideas, and status of current work to the Lead - Advanced Microsoft Office / Google Workspace Skills Preferred Qualifications: - Already local to the Boca Raton/Miami, FL metro area - Degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management - Experience in Process Documentation or Mapping: Prior involvement in a project (academic or extracurricular) - Demonstrated Data Handling and Analysis Skills: Previous exposure to manipulating, validating, and presenting data - Previous experience in independent or group projects: Evidence of strong organizational, time management, and project ownership skills - Experience in warehouse and supply chain state of the art, research of innovative operational and supply chain solutions - Experience in continuous improvement, methods for process improvements, projects, Six Sigma - Digital Warehouse, Supply Chain, AI Tools - Process Mapping and Documentation Tools - Project and Task Management Software Required Skills: Data Handling, Analysis, Process Mapping, Project Management Important Skills: Microsoft Excel, Google Suite Nice-to-Have Skills: Technical Document Creation
