Job Description
Summary: AdventHealth Colorado is committed to uplifting individuals in body, mind, and spirit. The Design Center Intern will support the development of innovation labs, collaborate with teams, and conduct both primary and secondary research to enhance design processes.
Responsibilities:
- Leads the development of highly effective and engaging innovation labs
- Collaborates with the Design Center Team to ensure an inspiring, creative, open, and productive environment
- Develops prototypes as directed
- Supports primary research by developing research stimuli, taking observational notes, and recording focus group and interview notes
- Conducts secondary research, including online research, competitive analysis, trend analysis, data analytics, and reviewing white papers and industry reports
- Seeks out and participates in educational opportunities to learn new, creative approaches to facilitation, design thinking, prototyping, and innovation
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure design is incorporated into the co-creation process as appropriate
- Works independently on projects as assigned
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Strong storytelling skills with the ability to develop highly visual and engaging presentations. Ability to sketch, develop information graphics, use of photography, video, and highly polished visualizations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to share and receive information and ideas from all levels of the organization in order to achieve desired results
- Ability to think quickly and adapt to changing situations; self-motivated and resourceful
- Analytical, creative, and strong interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of design thinking/human centered design
- Demonstrated ability to meet/exceed deadlines
- Ability to work well with cross functional teams
- High School Grad or Equiv
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong presentation skills
- Knowledge of Theory U (work by C. Otto Scharmer)
- Knowledge of healthcare administration
- Skilled in the arts (acting, music, poetry)
- Skilled in improvisation
- General Business knowledge
