Job Description

Jamaica Flour Mills Limited is seeking a reliable and technically capable Mill Attendant to support daily milling operations and ensure equipment, ingredients, and work areas are maintained to the required standards. This hands-on role is essential to maintaining safe, efficient, and consistent mill operations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Monitor roll stands, take break releases, and accurately record weights and information • Clean and maintain roll stands and the roll floor • Assist with clearing chokes and troubleshooting roll-related issues • Support mill repairs during plant downtime • Monitor and operate the ingredient feeder system • Weigh ingredients and maintain accurate records • Repair roll and feeder belts and adjust rolls as required • Support the Assistant Shift Miller and assume responsibilities when required • Follow all safety, quality, and operational procedures • Perform other duties as assigned to support mill operations QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS • High School or technical-level education • Minimum 2 years’ relevant work experience • Basic computer skills • Basic training in Milling Technology • Working knowledge of milling processes and different flour types • Experience with computerized control panels • Strong communication and teamwork skills • Flexibility to work shifts, overtime, and on call as operational needs require. • Intermediate troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. • Strong commitment to safety. • Excellent time management and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work overtime, shifts and on call. • Firm understanding of ISO, HACCP, GMP and environmental standards.

This position requires working in a hot, noisy and dusty environment which includes standing, climbing, lifting a maximum of 50 lbs., working at heights, walking for prolonged periods with constant exposure to manufacturing areas.
