Lead Security Technician at ABLe Communications in Arlington, TX

We are seeking a highly skilled and experiencedCommercial Lead Security System Installation Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of advanced commercial security systems, including access control, intrusion alarms, and video surveillance systems. As a lead technician, you will oversee the installation process, manage a team of technicians, and ensure the successful completion of projects to meet customer expectations and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Installation & Setup:Lead the installation, configuration, and commissioning of security systems, including access control, intrusion detection, and video surveillance (CCTV) systems, at client sites.• Team Leadership:Supervise and mentor a team of security system installation technicians. Provide guidance on best practices for system installation and troubleshooting.• System Integration:Ensure proper integration of security systems with existing infrastructure, including network configurations, software setup, and hardware installation.• Troubleshooting & Maintenance:Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair security systems. Respond to service calls and perform regular maintenance on installed systems to ensure their reliability and functionality.• Quality Assurance:Conduct thorough site inspections to verify the installation and functionality of all systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards, customer specifications, and manufacturer guidelines.• Customer Interaction:Communicate with clients to understand their security needs, provide recommendations, and offer technical support. Ensure customer satisfaction throughout the installation process and beyond.• Documentation & Reporting:Maintain accurate records of installations, service calls, and system configurations. Prepare and submit project reports, including system schematics, wiring diagrams, and operational manuals.• Project Management:Coordinate project timelines, schedules, and resources to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Work closely with project managers and sales teams to ensure client expectations are met.• Safety & Compliance:Adhere to all safety regulations and industry standards, ensuring all installations are performed in compliance with relevant local, state, and national codes.

Qualifications:

• Experience:Minimum of 5 years of experience in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of commercial security systems, including access control, intrusion alarms, and video surveillance systems.• Technical Skills:Proficiency with security system components, includingcontrol panels, card readers, motion detectors, contacts, relays, ect. Strong understanding of IP-based video systems and network integration. Experience with software platforms such as Lenel, Bosch, or Genetec is a plus.• Leadership:Prior experience managing or leading a team of technicians, providing guidance and training as necessary.• Certifications:Relevant certifications in commercial security systems preferred. Manufacturer-specific certifications (e.g., Axis, Hanwha, HID, or similar) are a plus.• Problem Solving:Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.• Communication Skills:Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, team members, and management.• Physical Requirements:Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs), work in confined spaces, and climb ladders as needed. You must be comfortable working in various environmental conditions.• Driver’s License:Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with cloud-based or mobile security management platforms.• Knowledge of network security protocols and troubleshooting (e.g., VPNs, firewalls, and routers).• Experience with integrated security solutions (e.g., access control, video surveillance, and intrusion systems).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
