Community & Events Associate at Abby Care in Indianapolis, IN

About Abby Care: Powering the future of care at home for all of America.

Abby Care is building the leading AI-native platform for family-led care. America is facing a growing care crisis. Millions more people need care at home than ever. Over 50 million family caregivers support loved ones without the tools, training, or recognition they deserve.

We believe families are the largest untapped caregiving workforce in America, and that technology can help them deliver better care while driving stronger outcomes and greater transparency across the healthcare system.

Abby Care combines clinical oversight with an AI-powered platform to train, enable, and support family caregivers in delivering high-quality care at home. Our platform helps health plans and government partners better understand, verify, and improve care in the home. We expand access to care, reduce reliance on higher-cost settings, and help ensure public dollars are spent effectively.

We are proud to partner with leading health plans, providers, and community organizations and are backed by top VCs. We envision a future where family-led care is a core part of the healthcare system. Abby Care is building that future.

Join us in solving one of the most important challenges of our time.

The Opportunity:

At Abby Care, community is our greatest strength—and we’re looking for a Community and Events Associate to bring that to life. This role is all about creating meaningful, consistent, and inclusive touch points that connect families, reduce isolation, and foster a sense of belonging among our members.

From park playdates to moms' nights out—and from nonprofit resource fairs to community festivals—you’ll design and execute events that build community, generate word-of-mouth referrals, and amplify our mission. You will proactively represent Abby Care at local nonprofit gatherings, community events, and family-focused forums to raise awareness among families who may qualify for services and the organizations that support them.

You’ll build relationships, create online and offline spaces for connection, and expand brand visibility across the communities we serve. You’ll be the face of Abby Care in the field—part strategist, part storyteller, and always a connector.

This is a Full-Time Hybrid opportunity based in Indianapolis, Indiana.

What you’ll work on:

• Research, plan, coordinate, and host a variety of weekly events across the state (family-friendly, caregiver-only, informal gatherings, and signature experiences).
• Identify, attend, and actively participate in local community events, nonprofit resource fairs, school and advocacy events, and family-focused gatherings to raise awareness of Abby Care among families who may qualify.
• Build and maintain partnerships with local nonprofits, advocacy groups, and community-based organizations that serve eligible families.
• Table at community and nonprofit events—engaging families, answering questions, distributing materials, and driving referrals.
• Serve as an on-the-ground ambassador for Abby Care—clearly articulating our mission, services, and eligibility criteria to families and partners.
• Manage event logistics including location scouting, budgeting, vendor coordination, marketing, materials, and refreshments.
• Track engagement, lead generation, referral, and conversion metrics to evaluate awareness-building efforts and optimize outreach strategy.
• Foster and grow a thriving caregiver network by ensuring a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive atmosphere at all events.
• Collaborate with internal teams to integrate events and community presence into broader growth, outreach, and retention strategies.
• Stay attuned to caregiver needs, community trends, and local partnership opportunities to increase reach and relevance.

What you’ll have:

• Experience in community engagement, events, outreach, or grassroots organizing.
• Strong communication skills—you’re a natural storyteller and relationship builder.
• Comfortable initiating conversations with families and community leaders in event settings.
• Self-starter who thrives in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and takes ownership of territory growth.
• High emotional intelligence and genuine passion for serving underserved communities.
• Willingness to work flexible hours (including occasional evenings/weekends) and travel locally to attend and host events.
• Comfortable working independently and in a field-based role.
• Fluent Spanish-speaking is preferred

Benefits:

• Competitive compensation packages that reflect the value you bring. We reward our team for the impact of their work.
• Comprehensive health coverage that works for you. Choose from high-quality medical dental and vision options, including a $0 deductible PPO and a company-funded HSA, alongside employer-paid life and disability insurance.
• Generous paid time off. We provide policies that allow you to recharge along with 10 paid company holidays.
• Financial savings benefits to support your future. We support your financial well-being with HSA contributions, optional FSA and commuter benefits, and full coverage of all 401(k) account fees (employer match not currently offered).
• Paid parental leave to support your growing family. We provide paid leave, so you can focus on bonding and adjusting to life as your family grows.
