About Greenhouse
Greenhouse is the default choice for venture backed technology companies, and its boards are among the cleanest to apply to: a single page, a resume upload, and whatever custom questions the hiring team added.
That last part is where it stops being simple. Greenhouse lets each employer define arbitrary question sets per role, so two postings at the same company can ask for completely different things. Cover letters, portfolio links, work authorization, and long free text prompts all appear as custom fields rather than a fixed schema.

Greenhouse API questions
- Does Greenhouse have a job application API?
- Greenhouse publishes a Job Board API that lets anyone read a company's open roles, and a Harvest API for employers managing their own data. Neither lets a third party submit an application on a candidate's behalf. Tsenta completes the real application, so it works on any Greenhouse board rather than only ones that granted access.
- How does Tsenta answer custom Greenhouse questions?
- They are answered from the candidate profile you supply. When a question cannot be answered from that profile, the application pauses on needs_review and hands you the exact question rather than guessing.
- Can I get the list of questions before applying?
- Yes. The developer API returns the question set on the review object, including field types and any options, so you can render them yourself or answer them programmatically.
