Summary: Zoro.com is a leading eCommerce platform offering nearly 12 million tools, parts and supplies for business customers. The Competitive Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for researching and analyzing competitive data to inform pricing strategies and tactics, working collaboratively across departments to deliver actionable insights. Responsibilities: - Analyze competitive needs, surveying the market to define competitor coverage goals, resources to provide, and competitive strategies to implement - Leverage Artificial Intelligence to increase efficiency and unlock new analytical capabilities - Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and develop/maintain reporting - Work collaboratively across Zoro departments including Technology, Data Science, Category Management, Product, Finance, Marketing and many others - Assist in analytical projects that uncover actionable customer insights to guide short-term and long-term efforts on customer acquisition and retention - Use strong communication skills to present findings and recommendations up to executive level and build support for pricing initiatives - Assist in external vendor management to identify additional opportunities to drive value and maintain efficient data use - Understand and research fundamental drivers of Zoro’s success and partner cross functionally to test and learn - Analyze and identify areas where further data manipulations are needed to normalize the data across competitors - Conduct primary and secondary research on competitors’ prices and marketing strategy, understanding and assessing confidence factors for the matches received Required Qualifications: - A Bachelor's degree is required in related fields such as Mathematics, Data Science, Business Intelligence, Statistics - 1+ years experience in Pricing, Analytics, Data Science or equivalent analytical field - Proficiency with SQL, R and/or Python - Experience in practical application of OpenAI, Gemini or other artificial intelligence APIs - Proven history of applying problem solving skills when working with limited data & resources - Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy - Communicating complex data analysis to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Preferred Qualifications: - Familiarity with Git, Docker, and Airflow is preferred - Previous experience on competitive intelligence/pricing Required Skills: Pricing, Data Science, SQL, R, Python, Artificial Intelligence APIs, Statistical Analysis, Competitive Intelligence, Vendor Management Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans with coverage starting on day one of employment, Maternity support programs, nursing benefits, and up to 14 weeks paid leave for birth parents and up to 4 weeks paid leave for non-birth parents.
