Job Description
Summary: Zoom is committed to revolutionizing productivity in communication platforms through AI Companion functionalities. The AI Engineering Intern will work on designing agent architectures and developing frameworks for AI agents that enhance communication and collaboration.
Responsibilities:
- Designing and implementing agent architectures capable of reasoning, planning, and executing multi-step tasks
- Developing tool orchestration frameworks that enable agents to call APIs, use external tools, and coordinate workflows
- Building and maintaining guardrails, safety layers, and monitoring systems to ensure responsible and predictable agent behavior
- Implementing evaluation frameworks and metrics for assessing agent reliability, latency, and success rate
- Optimizing system infrastructure for scalability, low latency, and high availability across distributed environments
- Collaborating cross-functionally with product, research, and infrastructure teams to bring new agentic workflows into Zoom AI Companion
Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field
- Experience in AI/ML engineering and experience in backend/distributed system engineering
- Be proficient in one or more programming languages such as Python, Go, Java, or Rust
- Demonstrate proficiency with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure), and hands-on experience with Kubernetes, containers, and CI/CD pipelines
- Have a deep understanding of software architecture, observability, and performance optimization
- Have experience in building scalable, production-grade agentic products
