Summary: Zipline is the world’s largest drone delivery service, focused on providing equitable access to critical supplies globally. They are seeking a Digital Experiences Intern to help expand their digital presence and create engaging online experiences that enhance their brand while learning real-world skills. Responsibilities: - Expand Zipline's presence in emerging digital spaces — we have a strong presence in traditional and social media, but our ambitions are greater: how do we make Zipline top of mind across AI platforms, niche communities, servers, co-ops, and all the spaces driving internet culture today. Your pulse for the cultural zeitgeist will directly help shape Zipline’s internet presence - Create digital experiences that people love. Microsites, interactive tools, mini-games, visual storytelling — ways of digital storytelling that help people experience Zipline and become supporters before they’re actually able to use our service - Build AI-powered tools and automations that help a small comms team punch way above its weight — monitoring dashboards, content workflows, research agents, and things we haven't thought of yet. You'll ship and iterate quickly, and refine foundational tools for our team while learning from Zipline’s elite technical talent - Support and learn traditional communications functions. You’ll already have taste for what’s good on the internet, but you’ll also be involved in our broader, more traditional communications functions, like lending a hand preparing for a high-profile interview, prepping for a video shoot, or helping draft content for an engineering blog. We work as a team, and will help you grow your competencies across the function Required Qualifications: - High-agency, entrepreneurialism: Most of the time you'll operate with no playbook, doing something no one else has done before. You'll need to be comfortable in ambiguity, biased toward action, and low-ego about missteps - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain online trends, communities, and user behavior to different audiences - Experience making and sharing projects on the public internet: 99% of the internet lurks. You're the 1% that likes to build things, and you can prove it - Experience and excitement for building with AI: we don't expect you to be a true AI/ML programmer (Zipline has other roles for that), but you should have experience using AI to make things other people have interacted with - Demonstrated fluency of your corner of the internet: perhaps you moderated Minecraft or Discord servers, or sold Roblox mods, or built something HN loved, or developed a sizable AO3 or Reddit fandom.
