Job Description
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) with a minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in managing and supporting large-scale Oracle database environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the performance, availability, security, reliability, and day-to-day administration of Oracle databases while supporting both production and non-production environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain large-scale non-production Oracle database environments (Development and UAT) exceeding 30TB in size.
- Create, configure, and administer database instances, schemas, tablespaces, tables, indexes, and views.
- Perform installation and maintenance of Oracle patches (HPS patches) in non-production environments.
- Analyze patch dependencies, document implementation procedures, and maintain technical documentation.
- Investigate and resolve database performance issues by collaborating with application and enterprise teams.
- Perform root cause analysis and troubleshoot database-related incidents.
- Work extensively on database partitioning, optimization, and performance tuning activities.
- Import and export database objects using Oracle dump files (DMP).
- Conduct AWR (Automatic Workload Repository) analysis and provide recommendations for performance improvements.
- Monitor database health, availability, and capacity planning requirements.
- Support monthly production deployments and database maintenance activities.
Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator.
- Strong expertise in Oracle Database Administration and performance tuning.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle RMAN Backup & Recovery.
- Strong knowledge of writing and optimizing complex SQL queries.
- Experience in database performance analysis, troubleshooting, and optimization.
- Expertise in AWR reports, wait event analysis, and database health monitoring.
- Experience with Oracle database partitioning and large database management.
- Hands-on experience in importing and restoring databases using dump files.
- Experience working in Linux environments with a solid understanding of:
- File systems
- Memory management
- Threads and processes
- User space and kernel space concepts
- Experience supporting and deploying Microsoft Azure services.
- Experience working with enterprise teams for production database copy and restoration activities into non-production environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification.
- Experience managing very large databases (VLDBs) in enterprise environments.
- Exposure to cloud-based database management and infrastructure support.
Work Schedule & Support Requirements
- Primary work will be during standard business hours on weekdays.
- Additional support may be required during planned data maintenance activities outside normal business hours.
- Participation in monthly production deployments conducted over weekends is required.
- Off-hours and weekend work can be compensated through flexible scheduling and adjustment of normal working hours.
