Job Description
Summary: Zealot is a company that builds AI systems for defense and intelligence customers, backed by leading U.S. venture firms. They are seeking a Legal Intern to support visa and immigration-related work, coordinate applications, and assist with various legal responsibilities in a fast-paced startup environment.
Responsibilities:
- Support visa and immigration application processes, including document collection, intake coordination, status tracking, and application preparation
- Work with employees, candidates, internal teams, and external counsel to keep legal processes organized and moving
- Help maintain legal trackers, templates, and internal documentation
- Use AI tools thoughtfully to improve legal research, document organization, drafting workflows, and internal processes
- Assist with employment-related legal work, including onboarding documentation and policy support
- Review, organize, and help manage contracts such as NDAs, vendor agreements, contractor agreements, and commercial documents
- Support corporate legal matters, including board materials, governance documentation, fundraising diligence, and company records
- Help with privacy, compliance, IP assignment, and other legal needs that come up in a startup environment
Required Qualifications:
- You are finishing your law degree or are in the final stage of legal studies
- You are startup-minded, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- You are curious about AI and excited to use modern tools to work more efficiently and thoughtfully
- You have strong attention to detail and care about getting documents right
- You are highly organized and comfortable managing deadlines across multiple workstreams
- You write clearly and can communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders
- You are discreet, trustworthy, and comfortable handling confidential information
- You are curious about startups and want exposure to the full range of legal issues that arise inside a growing company
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior exposure to immigration law, whether through coursework, clinic work, externships, or internships, is a strong plus
