Accounting Specialist at Zayo Group in Westborough, MA

Summary: Zayo Group is a leading provider of mission-critical bandwidth, supporting transformative innovations across various industries. They are seeking an Accounting Specialist to handle a wide range of accounting functions, including month-end close, journal entry preparation, and account reconciliations, while collaborating with teams to ensure accurate financial reporting. Responsibilities: - Prepare month-end close by completing assigned close tasks, analyzing P&L fluctuations and preparing journal entries - Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and analysis - Responsible for accounting tasks related to current and future Asset Backed Securitization transactions specific to GL balance carve out work and documentation, intercompany reconciliation and billing and journal entry preparation - Assist with the completion of the monthly variance analysis used to support reporting monthly results to management - Collaborate with numerous teams to investigate and resolve issues timely and ensure financials are accurate - Help lead the team to make sure tight deadlines are being met - Focused on continuous process improvement and developing efficient ways to support the business - Assist with additional duties or other ad hoc projects as assigned by the team Required Qualifications: - BS/BA in Accounting or Finance - One to three (1-3) years of accounting experience - Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) - Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS365 products - Strong analytical skills to define problems, gather relevant data, and draw actionable conclusions - Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with all levels of the organization and across departments Preferred Qualifications: - Experience working with Oracle, Salesforce and/or OneStream is a plus - Experience in the telecommunications industry is a plus Required Skills: Accounting, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Microsoft Excel, Oracle, Salesforce, OneStream Benefits: Non- sales roles may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive plan., Sales roles may be eligible to participate in a sales incentive plan., Health insurance, Life insurance, Disability retirement plans, Paid time off, Excellent Health, Dental & Vision Insurance, Retirement 401(k) Savings Plan, Generous paid time off policy including paid parental leave
