YMCA of Southwestern Ontario was founded in 1856 and has over 200 locations from Goderich to Point Pelee, and Windsor to Woodstock. The YMCA of Southwestern Ontario operates two overnight camps, one in Point Pelee National Park, and one on Beausoleil Island in Muskoka. We also have 13 Health & Fitness branches across Southwestern Ontario.

Employees and volunteers of YMCA of Southwestern Ontario are ambassadors for the Y both on and off the job. Program Description:
Volunteers will be responsible for assisting with various maintenance and cleaning duties as assigned, obtaining knowledge of and following all maintenance and cleaning procedures, and greeting all participants and guests with a smile. Volunteers must strive to help maintain a positive, clean, and safe environment in all areas of the facility.
Core Responsibilities:
Assist in various cleaning and maintenance duties (e.g. mopping, cleaning mirrors, cleaning changerooms, disinfecting, dusting, painting, etc.)
Know and follow all maintenance and cleaning procedures (WHMIS, SDS, safe lifting, etc.)
Maintain regular communication with the department Manager
Completed all online trainings, program training, and Why School
Adhere to all COVID‐19 rules and regulations
Be an Ambassador for the YMCA
Qualifications:
Minimum age: we consider volunteers as young as the summer they are entering grade 9
Original Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Screening less than 6 months old for volunteers 18 years and older
Capable of safe handling cleaning products and performing janitorial duties
Genuinely Interested in being a part of the YMCA
Reflect the YMCA’s core values of: Honesty, Caring, Respect, Responsibility and Inclusiveness
Minimum commitment of 4 months, 2 hours/week
