Position Focus
During this appointment, I anticipate that your work will be focused on conducting research in neurological and neurosurgical patients as well as healthy controls to determine the neural networks that support attention and working memory capacity, and to develop new behavioral
paradigms and novel neurophysiologic methods to gain new insights into human behavior. You will lead and oversee advanced research studies in cognitive neuroscience, utilizing your extensive training and expertise to spearhead future investigations and contribute to the field. This position
provides a platform for you to drive innovative research, mentor junior researchers, and enhance your professional development and academic success. You will be integral to an intellectually stimulating environment within the Department of Psychology and the Wu Tsai Institute. You will contribute to the dissemination of cutting-edge
research, diverse theoretical perspectives, and a broad methodological range. This will involve both behavioral testing and advanced structural and functional brain imaging techniques. Your role will enhance your ability to critically evaluate scientific literature, design and conduct pioneering
experiments, formulate original research questions, and disseminate the findings. At BrainWorks, you will have access to state-of-the-art facilities for electrophysiological experiments, including MEG, OPM, and MRI scanners. You will be responsible for setting up, calibrating, and operating these systems, designing and implementing robust experiments, and
ensuring the integrity and quality of data collection. Your role will encompass troubleshooting technical issues and leading data curation and analysis, becoming proficient in Matlab- or Python-based software tools for preprocessing, statistical analysis, and visualization. You may apply techniques such as signal processing, time-frequency analysis, and machine learning to derive meaningful insights from complex datasets, driving forward the understanding of cognitive neuroscience.
