Position Overview
Yale University is excited to offer an internship opportunity tailored for New Haven Promise Scholars seeking meaningful exposure and experience in the dynamic world of HR’s Total Rewards Department. Interns will gain hands-on experience in the university’s compensation and retirement savings plan programs.
Key Responsibilities
The HR Intern will engage in various activities, including but not limited to:
Review and update EEO-1 codes, SOC codes, and IPED codes. This is government related coding and classification of work used for various purposes. This summer we will be looking across all job profiles in M&P and in C&T.
This effort will be guided by support from seasoned members of the compensation team.
This will require a significant amount of time and will link in to our current job framework redesign (JFR) efforts.
Coverage for a compensation analyst on leave throughout the summer.
Assisting with answering Salesforce tickets for the compensation team.
This will be done under the direction of Compensation Analysts on the team.
Support retirement plan administration and compliance efforts by conducting targeted internet and database research to locate missing or unresponsive 403(b) plan participants.
include performing internet and database searches using publicly available information and documenting outreach efforts in a manner consistent with ERISA and Department of Labor guidance
involves researching and evaluating how artificial intelligence and advanced data-matching technologies can be leveraged to improve the accuracy and efficiency of missing participant search processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Current rising sophomore, junior, or senior enrolled in an undergraduate program.
Strong interest in Human Resources and Benefits.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Professional demeanor with the ability to manage sensitive information confidentially.
Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
An understanding and interest of AI concepts, capabilities, and limitations.
Preferred skills:
Intermediate excel knowledge preferred.
